The first issue of The Journal was published on February 2, 1992.
The Journal became a legal newspaper in February 1995, after being published weekly for the three years required by Missouri law.
The Journal is now owned by Kevin and Connie McCann, who purchased it in 2002 and then expanded it into Cass County. The Journal is now the fastest growing newspaper in Cass County with offices in Raymore, Belton and Harrisonville. The staff at The Journal is committed to bringing you your local news, sports and editorial comments, free of the corporate hype and high prices you will find in other newspapers. After many comments from our readers we are bringing you this website, we hope you find it helpful and look forward to your comments.
